Description: Romo wishes to engage it's employees in selecting from a shortlist of excellent local projects offering support to families and/or children in the Mansfield or Ashfield area, where the company and staff may support those projects on a longer term basis with grants, volunteer time and gifts in kind as deemed suitable each year.

Aims
Romo Ltd is a well-established and successful family firm based in Sutton in Ashfield. The directors and staff are keen to support their local community with another grant program working in partnership with Nottinghamshire Community Foundation.
A representative panel of Romo employees will select from a shortlist of excellent local projects where the company and staff may support those projects on a longer term basis with grants, volunteer time and gifts in kind as deemed suitable each year.
Romo has engaged with Nottinghamshire Community Foundation to ensure that all projects shortlisted are pre assessed as the most in need and covering the fund criteria. Chosen grants recipients will be monitored to ensure the outcomes of the award and relationship with Romo Ltd is of greatest benefit to the community.
Criteria
Who can apply
This fund is open to locally registered charities and other charitable organisations including Social Enterprises, CICs and CIO’s.
The fund is open to smaller grassroots organisations with a maximum turnover of £500,000 pa.
Amount
Groups can apply for up to £9,000 per year.
Geography
Applicants must be registered in Nottinghamshire with and MUST be delivering projects in the Mansfield and Ashfield area.
Theme
Applications will be welcome from any project that is benefitting the families and/or children in the districts of Mansfield or Ashfield.
Grants will not be awarded to:
- Statutory or public services
- Organisations with large reserves
- Organisations that do not operate or run activities within the area of benefit
- Groups not properly constituted or without two years of audited accounts
- Projects that have already taken place
- Groups not registered in Nottinghamshire
- Faith groups unless they are open to the wider community
- Political campaigning
- Individuals
Amounts available and rounds
The fund runs one round per year.
Groups can apply for up to £9,000 per year
Opening Date: 12th June 2023
Closing Date for Applications: 14th August 2023
Nottinghamshire Community Foundation will provide the custodians with a shortlist of pre-assessed applications from which staff and directors will choose the top 6 to invite to present to a staff panel who will decide which groups to award a grant.
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to present to a panel week commencing 16th October 2023 – details to be confirmed.
