John F Mortimer Fund
John F Mortimer was a highly respected Freemason in Nottingham and the award will therefore be presented by the Provincial Grand Master at the Masonic Hall in Nottingham in November.
Description
The aim of the John F Mortimer Fund is to support people in Nottingham City and County by making grants to community and voluntary groups who work to improve their communities.
The Fund will make grants for purposes or projects covering exclusively or mainly one of the following themes:
1. Children & Young People
2. Stronger and Safer Communities
3. Greener and Cleaner Communities
4. Healthier Communities
5. Older and Vulnerable People
Types of activities that we will fund include:
Providing diversionary activities, out of school activities and confidence building for young people.
Projects delivering work on crime, community safety, drugs and alcohol.
Improving the sustainability and independence of community environments.
Monitoring will be requested 6 months after the grant has been awarded.
Grant Round 1
Opens June 7th 2010 - closes September 8th 2010
Criteria
Local registered charities
At least two years of audited accounts
Full Safeguarding policies
Income lower than £100,000 pa
Amounts Available
Up to £20,000 per group.
PLEASE NOTE ONLY 2 AWARDS WILL BE GIVEN EACH YEAR
Groups will have to make an excellent case to demonstrate need.
